Rage Against the Salon is an independent print publication created by and for people who believe art should challenge, provoke, delight, and refuse to ask permission.

Each issue explores human-made art (Not AI) and its influence across visual art, music, film, fashion, architecture, literature, animation, food, travel, politics, culture, and more. We pair art history with the artists, makers, and creative rebels shaping the world right now.

Our name nods to the artists who challenged the rules and gatekeeping of the official Paris Salon, but our rebellion doesn’t end there.

In a world where AI is everywhere, we choose to go the opposite direction with a commitment to never use AI and to keep our focus on the artistic endeavors of real humans and their creative, passionate experiences.

Each Month you will receive:

• A twelve-page, collectible, tabloid-size art newspaper that includes meticulously curated art, artist interviews, cultural stories, art history, exhibition coverage, and other rebellious discoveries
• An exclusive fine art giclée print featuring Original Artwork (Sizes may vary from 5x7 to 8x10)
• A set of 3 or more Original Art stickers

• Original Art Destination Postcard for mailing to someone special (or to keep as art)

• Original Art Mocktail Recipe Card (2026-2027)

• A Curated Playlist to go with each month's theme
• Additional bonus gifts will vary each month (Writing prompts, Bookmarks, Playlists, Coloring Pages, Art Activities, and lots more.)
• Each issue has its own theme, artists, and surprises, so some details may vary from month to month.

Absolutely! Gift subscriptions are available in prepaid three, six, and twelve-month options. Enter the recipient’s mailing address during checkout, and we’ll send each issue directly to them. We can even include a gift message from you to start! (Gift subscriptions do not automatically renew.)

A Rage Rat is simply what we call our monthly subscribers, no secret handshake required. Every new subscriber will receive a Rage Rat Welcome Letter to introduce you to RATS.

All 1 YEAR Subscriptions will receive an Exclusive Rage RAT Member Kit that includes exclusive Member Stickers, an embroidered Rage Rat patch, an Exclusive Art Print, and a $30 Gift Certificate to use towards a Rage Rat t-shirt, hat, tote bag, or other merchandise in our online store (Over $70 Total Value)!

All subscriptions automatically renew until canceled, for the length of time of the original purchase. (Example: A quarterly membership will renew quarterly, and a yearly membership renews yearly.) Gift subscriptions do NOT automatically renew.

Current monthly subscribers will always be guaranteed a copy of each monthly issue of RATS, and every sale directly supports independent publishing, featured artists, human-made work, and a creative culture that refuses to become boring.

Our Rage Rat Mascot is named RIOT! RIOT the Rage Rat is our original creation and is sure to be a favorite of every generation.

The featured print is created as an exclusive part of each month’s RATS package and is not sold separately when the issue is released. If prints remain after the subscriber mailing, and our agreement with the artist permits it, a limited number may later be offered through the RATS Shop, but availability is never guaranteed.

Archived issues may be available through the RATS Shop, while supplies last. Because every issue and its accompanying artwork are produced in limited quantities, sold-out editions may not be reprinted.

Please read each archive listing carefully. An archived issue purchased individually may not include all of the original items (stickers, print, art print, postcard, playlist, and more). The best way to ensure you never miss exclusive content or limited edition items is to be a Rage Rat Subscriber!

Yes! Please! We welcome all Original artwork and story pitches from artists, illustrators, photographers, designers, writers, musicians, filmmakers, animators, and other creative rebels. We are always looking for new, inventive, creative minds to join us. If you would like to write about a subject for our newspaper, send us a pitch and a short sample of your writing.

Submitted work must be human-made, original, and owned or controlled by the person submitting it (NO AI ALLOWED). Please do not mail original artwork unless we specifically request it. Submitting work does not guarantee publication. If your submission is selected, we will contact you before publication to discuss permissions, credit, compensation, and any physical artwork or files needed.
